Theo truyền thông Trung Quốc đăng tải, mới đây, một nhóm nghiên cứu của quốc gia này đang thử nghiệm một loại máy quét toàn thân có khả năng nhìn xuyên thấu 30 lớp quần áo. Máy quét này sử dụng công nghệ radar không gian nhờ sự kết hợp nhiều ăng-ten nhỏ thay vì sử dụng một ăng-ten lớn như thông thường.
Với độ phân giải cao, loại máy quét này có thể dễ dàng phát hiện các vật thể bị cấm như các vũ khí giấu trong người tại các điểm kiểm tra an ninh.

Các cuộc thử nghiệm cho thấy, chiếc máy quét này thậm chí còn có thể nhìn thấy rõ cả logo trên đồ lót của một người nếu ở khoảng cách đủ gần.
Nhóm nghiên cứu ở Đại học Khoa học và công nghệ Hoa Trung đã tiến hành một thử nghiệm. Họ đặt một mảnh giấy có in chữ "S" với kích cỡ bằng ngón tay cái bên dưới 5 loại quần áo được làm từ nhiều loại vải tự nhiên và tổng hợp.
