LCS là giải đấu Liên Minh Huyền Thoại chuyên nghiệp dành cho các đội tuyển hàng đầu của 2 khu vực Bắc Mỹ và Châu Âu. Tổng cộng sẽ có 28 trận đấu, trong đó 1 đội sẽ thi đấu 4 trận với 7 đội còn lại. Vào cuối mùa giải, 2 đội đầu mỗi bảng sẽ được vào thằng vòng Playoff. Các đội từ hạng 3 đến hạng 6 sẽ tiếp tục tranh tài với nhau. Đội chiến thắng sẽ giành suất vào thi đấu Playoff, trong khi đội thua cuộc sẽ đấu trận thứ 5.
Đội thua cuộc trong trận thứ 5 sẽ rớt xuống bảng đấu tranh hạng cùng với 2 đội chót bảng từ vòng loại và 3 đội đến từ vòng đấu Challenger. Sau mùa giải đầu tiên, các mùa giải sau đều có thi đấu tương tự ở vòng loại ngoại trừ vòng playoff. Dựa vào kết quả của vòng Playoff, những đội hàng đầu sẽ trở thành đại diện tham dự vòng chung kết thế giới Mùa 4 tại Hàn Quốc.
