Một phát minh tuyệt vời phục vụ cho ngành y, giúp các bác sĩ có thể chữa trị cho các bệnh nhân tốt hơn.

Các nhà nghiên cứu Úc đã phát triển thành công loại sợi có khả năng biến đối màu sắc theo nhiệt độ, với mục đích tạo ra loại băng gạc phản ảnh được tình hình của vết thương bên dưới, từ đó phản ánh mức độ nhiễm trùng.
 

 
Đáng ngạc nhiên hơn, loại sợi này còn có khả năng hoạt động cực nhạy, ngay cả khi nhiệt độ môi trường chỉ thay đổi khoảng 0.5° C. Dựa vào loại băng gạc mới này, các bác sĩ có thể nhận định nhanh chóng các vấn đề trong chữa trị, thường gây ra bởi sự tăng/giảm nhiệt độ, chẳng hạn như sự gián đoạn truyền máu trong cơ thể.
 

 
Thông qua loại sợi này, các bác sĩ cũng có thể xác định được nhiệt độ vết thương cũng như môi trường xung quanh. Bằng cách so sánh màu sắc của các loại sợi, nhân viên y tế sẽ đưa ra quyết định chữa trị đối với từng vết thương khác nhau.
