Trong khi các đối thủ Android trên thị trường đều có RAM 1 GB.

Apple có truyền thống gấp đôi RAM mỗi đời iPhone nhưng năm nay Apple đã không làm vậy với iPhone 4S. Smartphone mới này chỉ có 512 MB RAM, giống hệt với người tiền nhiệm là iPhone 4 đã 1,5 tuổi. Trong khi đó các smartphone Android như Samsung Galaxy S II hay Droid Bionic đều có 1 GB RAM. 


Đúng là Apple chú trọng về hoạt động hơn là thông số kỹ thuật, nhưng rõ ràng RAM cũng góp phần tăng hiệu suất và cũng chẳng khó gì để nâng cấp lên, vậy tại sao Apple lại giữ nguyên lượng RAM như vậy? 

Câu trả lời phần nào đã nằm trong 1 bài blog mà Chủ tịch Windows Steve Sinofsky đã từng viết về Windows 8. Mục tiêu của ông là chỉ cần 1 GB RAM để chạy Windows 8: “Máy càng có nhiều RAM thì sẽ sử dụng nhiều điện năng hơn, và thời lượng pin sẽ ít hơn… Có thêm RAM có thể khiến máy chạy nhanh hơn và tiết kiệm được vài phút nhưng bù lại sẽ giảm lượng pin đi vài giờ”. 

Bạn có nhớ đã từng có tin rằng iPhone 4S có thời gian chờ ngắn hơn so với iPhone 4? Nếu iPhone 4S mà có 1 GB RAM thì có lẽ sẽ còn tệ hơn nhiều. Hãy tin tưởng ở Apple khi công ty này lựa chọn 512 MB RAM. Nói cho cùng thì đến game mạnh như Infinite Blade 2 mà Apple đã trình diễn cũng vẫn chạy rất mượt chỉ với từng ấy dung lượng RAM.
