Nói vui thì đây là một chiếc máy ảnh kỹ thuật số với "tính năng" điện thoại.

Polaroid vốn nổi tiếng về sản xuất camera, nhưng CES năm nay hãng lại mang đến 1 sản phẩm mới: điện thoại Android có camera 16MP point-and-shoot. Mẫu điện thoại này mang tên SC1630 Android HD Smart Camera, hỗ trợ mạng WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz và GSM 850/900/1800/1900, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS và FM. Máy có màn hình cảm ứng 3.2 inch 800 x 400, RAM 512MB, bộ nhớ trong 512MB cùng với cảm biến độ gần và cảm biến xoay. Ngoài ra SC1630 hỗ trợ microSIM, cổng microUSD và khe cắm tai nghe 2.5mm.
 






 

SC1630 có camera 16MP với độ mở F3.1 – F5.6, zoom quang học 3X, zoom điện tử 5X, tốc độ màn trập tối đa 1/1400, ISO tối đa 3200. Máy cũng có hỗ trợ chống rung, tag vị trí và quay phim 720p.

 

Polaroid SC1630 có giá 299 USD (6,2 triệu đồng) và sẽ ra mắt vào tháng 4. Phiên bản cuối cùng có thể sẽ có 1 vài thay đổi so với bản tại CES này.
 






 

SC1630 khá to với độ dày 18,5mm nhưng vẫn có thể để vừa dễ dàng trong túi. Mẫu máy trưng bày gia công không được chắc chắn lắm và cho cảm giác cầm không được sang trọng lắm bởi các nút bấm bằng nhựa và mặt sau bằng sợi. Màn hình máy cho màu sắc và góc nhìn khá tốt. Điểmtrừ lớn nhất của máy là pin chỉ có 1020mAh – dung lượng quá nhỏ cho 1 smartphone bình thường chứ chưa nói đến SC1630 với khả năng zoom. COO Emanuel Vorona của Polaroid khẳng định họ đang khắc phục và sẽ đảm bảo ít nhất đủ cho 1 ngày sử dụng bình thường. Ngoài ra Polaroid cũng đang xem xét đến việc thêm vào kết nối LTE, giúp việc chia sẻ hình ảnh thuận tiện hơn.
