Sau một loạt điện thoại dòng Optimus L, LG lại công bố thêm 1 smartphone nữa trước thềm MWC. Sản phẩm là "hậu duệ" của Optimus 3D với tên gọi Optimus 3D Cube.

Sau một loạt điện thoại dòng Optimus L, LG lại công bố thêm 1 smartphone nữa trước thềm MWC. Sản phẩm là "hậu duệ" của Optimus 3D với tên gọi Optimus 3D Cube.

So với người tiền nhiệm, Optimus 3D Cube có thiết kế mỏng hơn, chỉ 9,6 mm (so với 11, 9 mm), pin dung lượng lớn hơn, tốc độ chip 1,2 GHz so với 1 GHz của Optimus 3D. Bên trong máy còn có 16 GB bộ nhớ, 8 GB RAM và chip NFC tích hợp. Máy có khả năng chụp ảnh, quay video 3D và cho phép biên tập ảnh ngay trên điện thoại. 


Điểm giống của sản phẩm với Optimus 3D là màn hình IPS 4,3 inch độ phân giải 800 x 480 pixel, hỗ trợ 3D không cần kính, máy ảnh 5 MP. Optimus 3D Cube chạy Android 2.3 và sẽ sớm được nâng lên Ice Cream Sandwich. 

Ngay sau khi công bố Cube không lâu, LG lại ra mắt thêm Optimus 3D Max với nhiều đặc điểm kĩ thuật tương đồng. LG Optimus 3D Max dùng chip lõi kép 1,2 GHz, hai camera 5 MP camera, NF, hệ điều hành Android 2.3 Gingerbread và được nâng cấp lên Ice Cream Sandwich sau đó. 


Điểm khác biệt nằm ở màn hình máy. 3D Max chỉ được trang bị màn hình LCD 4,3 inch thông thường còn Cube sử dụng màn hình Nova tiên tiến. Bộ nhớ trong của 3D Max cũng kém hơn, chỉ 8 GB.

3D Max được trang bị bộ chuyển (HD Converter) giúp chuyển đổi game và ứng dụng sang độ phân giải HD khi kết nối điện thoại đến đầu HDTV qua MHL. Máy còn có bộ chuyển đổi 3D giúp chuyển các ứng dụng 2D như Google Earth và Google Maps sang không gian 3 chiều.
