Conor Pierce, phó chủ tịch của Nokia khu vực Tây Âu, cho biết nhóm nghiên cứu của Nokia ở đại học Cambridge đang nghiên cứu công nghệ "Superhydrophobic" có khả năng cho phép các chất lỏng chảy qua bề mặt của điện thoại.

Có khá nhiều công nghệ chống thấm nước cho smartphone đang được phát triển trên thế giới như Liquipel và HzO. Tuy nhiên, Nokia đã quyết định đi theo con đường riêng của mình khi tự chế tạo công nghệ chống nước riêng cho điện thoại của mình. Conor Pierce, phó chủ tịch của Nokia khu vực Tây Âu, cho biết nhóm nghiên cứu của Nokia ở đại học Cambridge đang nghiên cứu công nghệ "Superhydrophobic" có khả năng cho phép các chất lỏng chảy qua bề mặt của điện thoại.
 
"Superhydrophobic được lấy cảm hứng từ lá sen, công nghệ nano này sẽ làm cho nước chảy qua qua các bề mặt các thiết bị điện thoại mà không thẩm thấu vào bên trong".
 
 
Hiện tại thì cả Apple và Samsung đều dang rất quan tâm đến công nghệ chống nước cho điện thoại HzO để trang bị cho các sản phẩm điện thoại của mình trong tương lai. Nokia cũng không nằm ngoài xu thế này, hãng điện thoại Phần Lan dự định sẽ sử dụng Superhydrophobic trên các smartphone Lumia sẽ ra mắt trong thời gian tới.
