Tiếp tục là những thông tin về sự tăng trưởng của Android trong tháng 8. Tháng vừa qua, phiên bản Android Jelly Bean đạt mức tăng trưởng 50% so với tháng trước và chiếm tỷ lệ 1,2% trong khi Android 4.0 ICS thì tăng trưởng khoảng 25% đạt 20,9%. Sự phát triển của ICS và Jelly cũng kéo theo tỷ lệ phiên bản GingerBread giảm từ 60,6% xuống 57,5% tổng số thiết bị chạy Android.

Những số liệu trên được thu thập và thống kê trong 14 ngày và mới kết thúc vào ngày 4 tháng 9 vừa qua dựa trên số lượng truy cập vào kho ứng dụng Google Play. Google đã công bố số liệu này nhằm giúp cho các nhà phát triển có thể định hướng mức độ ưu tiên viết ứng dụng cho các thiết bị sử dụng Android. Bên cạnh những con số thống kê thì Google còn đưa ra một bảng biểu đồ diễn tả sự tăng trưởng của các phiên bản hệ điều hành.

Sự phát triển ổn định và có phần nhanh chóng của Android 4.0 được coi là một tín hiệu tốt đối với hệ sinh thái Android. Ngoài ra thì Jelly Bean cũng có được những bước nhảy vọt ấn tượng.
